The word "stoke" comes from surf slang and refers to the sense of extreme excitement and blessing after catching good waves. The stoke is highly addictive, hence the more you surf, the more you want to surf. Nowadays, with the increasing popularity of surfing and crowded lineups, people tend to forget we are all there for the stoke.
We are all brothers and sisters in the stoke.

About me
Hello, I'm Francesca and I was born in Italy. I've been a traditional artist until 2009, when I approached digital drawing and started a graphic novel called Wesneer. Since I was a kid I enjoy drawing characters, magical creatures and horses. My dad had a lot of prog rock vinyls with amazing cover artworks. My favourite were Roger Dean's artworks for Yes and Asia: I remember dreaming about my own characters sailing with the landscape of "Close to the Edge" on the background.
I always loved being an all-round creative until my schedule allowed me to do so: from drawing to writing poems and songs, to playing instruments.
Apart from drawing, I always had a thing for maths and challenges, so I decided to pursue a scientific degree.
Life kept me on a creative "hiatus" as I graduated in Physics in 2014 and got my PhD in 2018.
During my PhD I spent some time in Portugal and fell in love with Lisbon and the country. I made the decision to move there in 2021.
After some years working in electronics, I decided to go back to my artistic roots and started freelancing as illustrator. My main inspirations are the ocean, fantasy books, psychedelic rock and heavy metal.
